Best Cafes in Seongsu-dong, Seoul 2026 – From Famous to Hidden
Hello, This is Ssenea. 😎
Seongsu-dong has gone through a lot of identity shifts in the last decade — factory district, Seoul's Brooklyn, influencer capital — and somehow it's still worth visiting despite all the hype. The neighborhood has a way of refreshing itself. What was crowded last year is quieter now; what was hidden is suddenly everywhere.
The café scene is much the same. Some spots have been here for years and remain genuinely great. Others opened recently and are already impossible to get into on weekends. Here are 4 of the best cafes in Seongsu-dong in 2026 — from the ones that started it all to a floral gem most visitors walk right past.

Getting to Seongsu-dong
By subway: Line 2, Ttukseom (뚝섬) Station or Seongsu (성수) Station. Most cafés on this list are within walking distance of Seongsu Station, though starting at Ttukseom and walking toward Seongsu is a popular route that lets you take in the neighborhood as you go.
The area is walkable — no need to take taxis between stops. A good pair of shoes and 3–4 hours is enough to comfortably hit two or three places with time to wander in between.
4 Best Cafes in Seongsu-dong
1. Daelim Warehouse (대림창고) — The Original
A former 1970s rice storage facility turned multi-use cultural space, Daelim Warehouse is where Seongsu-dong's reputation as a creative district arguably began. The exposed brick, iron columns, and soaring wooden roof haven't been renovated away — they're the point.
Rotating gallery exhibitions change every couple of months, which means there's usually something new to see beyond the coffee and brunch menu. Weekday mornings are noticeably calmer than weekends, and the seating arrangements allow for longer stays without feeling rushed.
Address: 78 Seongsuiro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
Getting there: Seongsu Station (Line 2), Exit 3, approx. 10-min walk
Best for: First-time visitors to Seongsu, art + café combination, architecture fans
2. Onion Seongsu (어니언 성수) — The Bakery Everyone Queues For
Onion is a converted factory building that somehow manages to feel both industrial and warm at the same time. The rough concrete walls, the oversized communal tables, and the high ceilings create a space that works equally well for solo visitors with a book or groups lingering over a second round.
The bread is the reason people queue. Pandoro — a soft, butter-rich Italian loaf — is the signature item and tends to sell out by mid-afternoon. If bread is part of your plan, a morning visit is the safer call.
Address: 8 Achasan-ro 9-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
Getting there: Seongsu Station (Line 2), Exit 3, approx. 8-min walk
Hours: Daily (check Instagram for seasonal hours)
Best for: Bakery lovers, architecture, lingering over coffee

3. Kkachiwhbang (까치화방) — The Flower Café Most Visitors Miss
Tucked inside the Seongsunaknak complex, Kkachiwhbang is part flower shop, part café — and the combination works better than it has any right to. The entrance leads through a small garden that acts as an unofficial photo zone, and the menu leans into seasonal fruit and floral flavors in ways that feel considered rather than gimmicky.
The Strawberry Ice Cream Croffle (생딸기 아이스크림 크로플) and Royal Muscat Milk Tea are the standout items. Neither exists anywhere else in quite the same form, which is exactly the kind of thing that makes a café worth finding.
This one skews more toward couples and small groups than solo visitors, and works particularly well as a mid-afternoon stop after the main lunch rush has cleared.
Location: Inside Seongsunaknak (성수낙낙), Seongdong-gu, Seoul
Best for: Floral aesthetic, dates, seasonal fruit menus, photo opportunities
4. Béton Seongsu Flagship (베통 성수 플래그십) — Sourdough and Specialty Coffee in a Former Factory
Béton started in a space that used to be a plating workshop and a dyeing factory — the building's bones are still intact, and the two-floor layout with a second-floor terrace makes the most of both. The name comes from the French word for concrete, which gives a fair sense of the aesthetic.
Baker and barista Kim Jin-gyu runs the operation, and the bread program is taken seriously. The sourdough and salt bread (소금빵) in particular have developed a following — buttery, crisp-edged, and best eaten warm. The coffee program is strong enough to stand on its own without the baked goods, though it's hard to resist ordering both.
Pastries sell out in the afternoon, sometimes sooner on weekends. Morning visits, or arriving early after lunch, are the reliable windows.
Address: Seongdong-gu, near Seongsu Station (성수역 3번 출구 도보 4분)
Getting there: Seongsu Station (Line 2), Exit 3, approx. 4-min walk
Best for: Serious coffee, sourdough, café-bakery combination
Quick Reference
| Daelim Warehouse | Industrial heritage, gallery | Rotating exhibitions | Weekday mornings |
| Onion Seongsu | Converted factory, bakery | Pandoro bread | Morning (before sellout) |
| Kkachiwhbang | Floral, seasonal | Strawberry croffle | Early afternoon |
| Béton Seongsu | Concrete aesthetic, artisan | Salt bread, sourdough | Morning or early afternoon |
A Few Practical Notes
On weekends: All four spots get busy between 1–3 PM. If you're planning multiple stops, start early and work your way through in the morning — by the time you reach your third café, the peak crowds will have thinned.
On bread: Both Onion and Béton have signature baked goods that sell out. Neither restocks throughout the day. If bread is important to your visit, treat it like a timed event and arrive accordingly.
On the neighborhood: Seongsu changes fast. Shops open and close with the season, and even well-established spots sometimes adjust hours or close for private events. A quick Instagram check before you head out is time well spent.
Seongsu-dong Is Still Worth It
The neighborhood's reputation has outgrown what most neighborhoods could handle. But Seongsu-dong keeps finding ways to stay interesting — and the best cafes in Seongsu-dong reflect that. Whether you're here for the architecture, the bread, or the flowers, there's a version of Seongsu that will work for you.
